Cycle paths, in-line skating and the bike park
Lipno is a cyclists’ paradise. The best known route is the Lake Cycle Path – Přední Výtoň–Lipno–Frymburk, but you can also try more demanding terrain out in the countryside. The cycle path running along the Schwarzenberg Canal is unforgettable and almost completely flat.
For the comfort of visitors there is the Frýdava ferry (a hamlet belonging to Přední Výtoň) to Frymburk – it carries passengers, cyclists and vehicles and is an important link on the cycle route around the whole Lipno reservoir – 108 km.
Bike Park Lipno starts at the cable car in Lipno and has a total of 3 trails with a length of 8 km. It offers an entertaining ride through forest terrain, with banked turns, terrain waves and rock gardens. The trails are graded by difficulty, so even beginners can manage them. Everything can be ridden under the supervision of experienced instructors.

Water sports at Lipno
Lipno is made for water sports. You can hire an electric boat, a kayak or a sailing boat, and if you do not feel up to it yourself, you can simply be taken for a ride. A trip on the pleasure boat between Frymburk and Lipno is also unforgettable. You can also watch the water races held here regularly – races of sailing boats, catamarans or dragon boats.

Hiking and historic sights
The Schwarzenberg Canal - 44 km long, it connects the basins of the Vltava and the Danube. In the past it was used to supply Vienna with firewood and timber. The route starts at the Czech–German border near the hamlet of Nové Údolí, continues to the settlement of Jelení and on to the village of Zvonková, from where it carries on into Austria. A superb cycle path, often described as “the longest straight in the Bohemian Forest”.
Vyšší Brod – a town about 10 km from Lipno. It is home to a beautiful Cistercian monastery housing the “Záviš Cross”, which is considered the equal of the Prague crown jewels. There is also the abbey church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a picture gallery, a gallery of Gothic art and the Vyšší Brod monastery library, the third largest in the country. The town is a frequent venue for cultural events, concerts and church services. The Postal Museum is also worth mentioning; it collects the history of the postal service from the 16th century and displays historic service vehicles, post offices, stamps and more. Near the town, do not forget to visit the “Devil’s Wall” (Čertova stěna) – a mighty sea of stones in the Bohemian Forest.
